The story of a darling mint clock - ORC Week 2
You know that time when you lot were standing in that Hobby Lobby aisle, only staring at the perfect clock? You stopped dead in your tracks, eyeing that perfect mint-colored clock, your mind running through all the places information technology would wait great in your house. Yous endeavour to rationalize with yourself, thinking in your head that the last affair y'all need today is a random clock. Where would y'all really put it, anyway? How will y'all smuggle into into the house without your married man noticing?
But your rational self is out-voted by your lover-of-pretty-things cocky, and soon you lot are stashing that darling mint clock in your shopping handbasket and heading straight to the checkout earlier you change your mind.
Has that e'er happened to you? If y'all couldn't guess, that's exactly what happened to me (although I'chiliad positive you take had a similar shopping experience at Hobby Lobby). I purchased that fashionable mint clock merely about a year agone, right when we were starting to house chase. I simply knew it was going to be the perfect accompaniment in the time to come office/craft studio in my future home.
And as presently equally we toured the firm that we now own, I knew that the ugly, red-floored room tucked in our basement was going to make the most perfect arts and crafts studio. This clock has been stashed away all this time, just waiting to brand its debut.
I am one week into the One Room Claiming, a challenge where bloggers set their minds on completely transforming one room in their home over the class of six weeks. I showed yous my mood board and color scheme last calendar week, and this week I'm giving you a bit of an update on my Jewel Tone Craft Studio.
Honestly, I have felt nether the atmospheric condition the entire week, so I haven't done annihilation major in this room yet. But, I have raided every nook and cranny of my firm for furniture and accessories that I tin can utilise in this new craft studio. That clock isn't the only thing that's been waiting for a pretty craft studio to call home. I have been hoarding collecting storage containers and baskets for storing craft supplies. Storage containers are definitely my guilty pleasure. I institute the green and blueish containers in the above photograph at Dollar General. And this stack of mint, greyness and white baskets are from the dollar section at Target.
I have 4 of these old yellowish chairs that I thrifted terminal spring specifically for this room. A footling paint and new seat coverings should liven them up. I actually similar their shape.
I also have this fun blue patterned fabric that I'm 99% sure I'm using every bit the curtain in front of our ugly storage shelves.
I've also relocated our grey and white Target rug from our living room to my craft room. The rug worked great in our flat, but is just likewise small to actually work well in the living room of our business firm. My goals for this coming calendar week:
